Parish Hall Centenary Celebrations Events

PARISH HALL CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS DECEMBER/JANUARY

The Committee meets regularly to discuss the many events suggested and wish to include all the groups and people who use our Village Hall.

An exhibition of memorabilia of the Hall’s first 100 years – (contributions to Eric Caldwell please!) will remain on show throughout the week of December, starting on Friday 6th December.

The latest suggested list of Events is as follows:

Friday 6 DecemberCentenary Party hosted by Parish Council. (in place of the Christmas CASCA Party, thanks to Peter Moll)
Saturday 7 DecemberSpinners, Weavers & Dyers. 10.00am – 3.00pm (normal booking)
Saturday 7 DecemberQuiz Evening by Terry Wilson, with light Supper
Sunday 8 DecemberSunday Service in the Church, followed by Lunch at the Village Hall, organised by All Saints’ Fellowship
Sunday 8 DecemberPeriod Tennis Match (afternoon), organised by Compton & Shawford Tennis Club, followed by Tea in Pavilion
Monday 9 DecemberFestival Choir Evening with Winchester Brass. Organised by Choir & Over 60’s Club
Tuesday 10 DecemberBridge Evening with Supper, 7.00pm – 11.00pm. Organised by the Compton & Shawford Bridge Club
Wednesday 11 DecemberCompton & Shawford W.I. (normal booking). Christmas Tea Party. (Invitations to local Groups)
Friday 13 DecemberWhist Aftemoon 2.00pm – 5.00pm with Tea. Organised by Compton & Shawford Whist Club and Reeves Compton W.I.
Saturday 14 DecemberOrchids’ Society. (normal booking)

We will have a full souvenir programme on sale soon, together with tickets and it is hoped everyone in the Parish will come along to as many events as possible, making the Centenary of our Village Hall, a roaring success.

The next meeting of the Committee will be held at Shawford Small Hall on Friday 6th September at 8.00pm.
